Week 2: Entrepreneurial-Flavored Appreciations
Picking up where we left off last week, this week's appreciations are for people who display courage and random acts of kindness in the entrepreneurial world. I am grateful for their friendship, for their blogs (linked to in the title part of the entry) and for their persistence. These are some of my inspirations...
28. Chookooloonks
Chookooloonks, thank you for bringing smiles to faces around you, for sharing stories (+ photos) that melt our hearts + for helping our friendship blossom. Here's to many more remarkable stories + photos to come!
(thank you for letting me use the pic!)
29. Gabrielle Blair
Gabrielle, you blow me away. Your charisma, your style, your earrings. Thank you for leading the way in being a mom (of 5) but looking like you're still squarely in your 20s. If I can pull that off, sign me up.
30. The Organizers of Blogher: Lisa Stone, Elisa Camahort Page, Jory Des Jardins
This was only my second year attending the BlogHer conference, but the impact it has made on my life and the lives of my friends that attend can't be understated. You all are inspirations.
31. Ingrid Alongi
Thank you, Ingrid, for demonstrating grace in difficult times. And for switching over to heels from crocs.
I value our friendship.
32. Gerhard Rivera
Gerhard, I'm constantly impressed with your level of professionalism + words of encouragement. Not that you should write a self-help book. But if you did, I promise I'd read it.
33. Caroline Donahue
Caroline, you're the kind of friend that makes me want to pack my bags + move to California. Your emails make me smile, your blog makes me think, you make me happy. Thank you for putting yourself out there with so much heart.
34. Photrade
Andrew + Krista, meeting you two was one of the highlights of the BlogHer trip for me. You're both delightful...you make a stellar team together. Good luck growing Photrade!
35. Jenny the Bloggess
I laugh every time, without fail, when I visit your blog, Jenny. And I also got to see a few other sides of you at BlogHer that opened my heart in unexpected ways. You rock.
36. A Guy Named Dave
Dave, thanks for doing the hard thing. Paring down to the bare essentials + showing us how...the world can learn a lot from your example.
37. Greeblemonkey
Greeblemonkey, thank you for coming to Boulder to meet up with us for our women engaging tech event...+ growing our friendship from there. Your photography inspires, your blog picks me up...I'm proud to call you friend.
You all are appreciated...

That was a fantastic list, and I'm excited to check out all these cool people!!
Woo Hoo! I made the top 40! Thanks for the kind words and keep kicking ass!
gwen- you are the real thing. i love how you are unafraid to tell it like it is and how seriously you take your impact on the world. that you can juggle a million zillion amazing projects in the air like something out of dr suess and still are there to talk to a friend with a heavy heart far too late at night. it is such a gift to have met you and to know you still. I'm so glad you wore those yellow pants last year so i just had to say hello. many hugs from california.
You made me cry. (In such a good way.)
Aw, seriously? That was so nice of you -- thank you! And not to sound all gushy and mutualadmirationsocietyish, but the fact is that I'm about to embark on a new journey in my life, and *you* are one of *my inspirations. So your shout-out is especially encouraging. Thank you so much, Gwen. As Caroline above said, you are the real deal.
I love this list! Go Gabby, go Jenny! And what's great is that I'm discovering other new inspriations through it, too.
I love that you've put so much energy into putting positivity out onto the web, Gwen! Others would do well to follow your example.
WOW, thank you so much for the listing. I know our methods sometimes differ but we are definitely on the same path. :-)
Honestly? I'm _glad_ our methods differ...and I learn a lot from watching you in the world.
ha ha! Top 40...hadn't really thought of it like that...but yes, you did...*smile*
I look forward to hearing about the journey...your life chronicled in part in photos and words and music on your blog...it's uplifting to me. Thank you for putting it into the world the way you do.
Oh and you ARE the reason I chucked the crocs for heels. Thanks for showing me how cute women in tech can be.
#34, Good to know that Andrew & Krista are as cool in the real world as they are online :)
Caroline, you're a doll. I look forward to seeing what the rest of 2008 holds in store for you...hope to see you in CA again b/f end of year. Those yellow pants, for the record, are in my top 10 articles of clothing of my lifetime thus far... *smile*
*wipes tear* Love you, lady.
Sweet! That's what I'm trying to do...simply be a conduit for these folks that inspire us to do what we do... <3
Definitely are. And what are you thinking of Photrade for your site? Selling pics like hot cakes?!?
I know or know OF many of the fabulous people you talk about in this post, but after seeing you last year and briefly this year, and reading yer blog, i would add you to this list. AND not just because i have a girl crush on you. xo
So happy to meet you, Jen+Tonica...*smile* Someone probably already schooled you on it, but the answer to your question, what does "<3" mean...look at it sideways! *heart*
And THIS is what I love about the web world: A link to a link to a link and I find yet another writer that I like!
