Presence Practice « Presence Practice: 25 Minutes to Improved Presence »

So, I started napping in college. But it was really as an antidote to the way I was pushing myself. A reward. Nap to be able to push myself a little harder.
Now, I take professional naps. I nap almost daily. It’s the secret weapon I keep tucked in my back pocket. I remember when I was in the Language Dept. offices in January I put my head on the desk and napped. They needed no explanations and I gave none. (This is one way I knew we'd get along.)
Now, I don't take naps to push myself harder.
Instead, I use them to refresh and come back to the present with more energy.
How am I able to nap anywhere? The secret weapon is Pzizz. It’s an app for the iPhone that allows you to set the length of time for your nap, and guides you into states of sleep. I have no idea if there are any negative side effects; I’ve only seen positive ones. Although, I will tell you I’ve acted out a few science fiction fantasies about how someday the call to action Pzizz has embedded in my mind during all these naps. It’ll be like Voldemort calling all his Death Eaters home.
Let’s hope we’re not in a meeting together when that happens.
And for now, I show no signs of psychosis. Or creepy snake tattoos.
Only the bliss of coming back after 25 minutes ready to give you my full attention once again.

There's a 4-leaf clover in that field up there.
(I'd wager on it.)
(Even if there's not, I bet counting'll put you right to sleep.)
