A {Mini} Social Web Guide for Restaurants + Le Kliff / 2009 Best Restaurant Moment
Despite all the Twittering and Facebooking and Social Medi-eating this year, my best restaurant moment was in Mexico. Slow, goofy and off the grid. It was the moment, despite the fact that the waiters did basically everything listed on the New York Times's list of "100 Things Restaurant Staffers Should Never Do."
Here's why:

2009 was the year restaurants started catching on about the social web.
We saw a pizza joint erect a massive Twitter billboard.
Cupcakes got in on the hot action.
As did a restaurant where you can take a dump and eat it, too.
Then there was the LA-led mobile restaurant craze.
I got in on that.
A device that will ping your followers the moment your bread is out of the oven? You got it.
