09.09.09 - Houston - 9 more reasons to love you
What an honor to spend today with some of my favorite people in the world: Houstonites.
I was in town to speak at the Interactive Strategies conference. Above is the lovely Maggie McDonald. (slides at bottom of this post) (see photos of the event).
9 things I loved about 09.09.09
1. The Keynote Panel: He Said, She Said - The Sexes on Social Media...
2. The gorgeous venue: Angelika Film Center
3. Being compared to Chumbawumba
4. This morning's Texas sunrise
5. Getting to see, IRL, many of the people I love and talk to on Twitter on a weekly basis
6. Meeting Kim - who flew in from Denver, too, and will be at the swap this weekend!
7. Getting a hug from Karen - and learning about her gorgeous post from earlier today
8. The Humidity I propose next year they call the conference "Interactive Strategies: Don't Tame the Mane" My hair grew upwards and outwards by the minute as the humidity of the day picked up. (Thanks, Glenys for the earrings - let's get your Etsy store open!!)
9. Sharing GlitchWell: Using Our Missteps to Propel Us Forward for the first time (forthcoming - explanatory post on the 15 images you see here - hand-drawn by Bryce) (The first slide is intentionally blank. Use it to "find your Zen.")
What joy to have the chance to spend this day of nines with some of the people whose company I most enjoy. Flying out tomorrow. Thank you, as always, for your hospitality.

Loved your presentation Gwen. Didn't get a chance to meet as I was busy trying to get going before my own presentation, but these words came to mind: fresh, unique, thought-provoking and funny. I left feeling much smarter.
PS - That humidity that did a number on your hair has its pro's too - great for your skin!

As for the humidity, you're absolutely right. It's like insta-spa when I walk out of the airport. I love that feeling. Having spent years in Carolina, humidity is like an old friend. I'm always happy to feel it.
