July News! It's a New House*, BlogHer + Birthday Bonanza
BlogHer is only two weeks away (today) and I'm focused on that. I am, partially.
With my right eye I'm watching all the BlogHer related tweets.
With my left, buying a house.
Joel and I put in an offer on July 4, it was countered and we accepted and signed (and signed and signed) the counter. Our closing date is July 27, Joel's birthday. The day before my birthday, July 23, I'm flying to BlogHer in Chicago. To rock out with my BlogHer friends for the third year in a row (check out photos of the previous year in the slideshow above). If I love conferences (and I do), I love this one above all others. To my mind, it is the ultimate conference. More on that in a moment. First, house info...
I wish we were selling a crushed red velvet lip sofa at our moving sale this weekend, but we're not. We do have a lot of other things we're letting go of. Including stuff I actually like. 80% of my stationary has got to go. Which might sound like not a lot, but whenever we wander into a shop selling stationary, Joel asks if I'm going to the Productivity Porn section. There will be furniture, clothing, the works. After the moving sale, I'm majorly gearing up for BlogHer. I've lost track of the number of parties I'm attending. Which is ok since Kirtsy has a PDF party guide. That you can print. And carry around the conference so you know where you're going, whether you're eating there and who's hostessing. This sold-out(!) conference is an annual event that never fails to surprise and delight me. This year there will be karaoke, there will be lunches, brunches and there will be Tim Gunn (!!). There will be more events than last year. I'm super stoked.
I have sponsors to thank and contests to let you know about. The short list, I'm handing out prizes at the SocialLuxe Lounge, chillaxing with Nintendo, co-hostessing BowlHer and rocking the mic at the MamaPop soirée. That's the abbreviated list - there are many, many more suites, parties and events - plus the conference itself. Exciting news and announcements soon. I'll live-blog/tweet the conference again this year. Because that's the point of all this, right?
Partying at conferences, buying houses, celebrating birthdays. July is heating up, y'all.
*I say "house" - the thing is a loft. Joel wants me to clarify and rightly so. It's a loft (I've nicknamed it The Pop Loft), not a House house. Capital H. That doesn't stop the government from giving us some dollars for buying it. w00tles.

Congrats on the new pad!! And good luck on the cleaning, purging and selling that comes with it. Great feeling when you're done, but maaaaaaan it sometimes hurts a wee bit to let it go.
Your stationary is my ridiculously giant collection of old, new and in between random magazines that I like to craft with... uhmm.... like every 6 months or so. Still clinging... :)

Really wish I was going to BlogHer this year. That's when we're going on vacay, but I'm definitely booking it for next year. So glad you'll be live-blogging/tweeting the conference!
CONGRATS on the new digs!! That is so exciting. I can't even imagine having so much space to fill and decorate but I wish I did haha.
And I'm uber jealous I don't get to experience BlogHer either *pout* Maybe next year.
