The beauty Room 6 is like Etsy come to life. I wanted to touch everything in it.
And I decided I wanted to move in. Once I move to Canada.

You might want to go ahead and order all of your presents from this place. looks great! Reminds me of my beloved Exit 9 on Avenue A in NYC where I have bought the large majority of my winter hats and holiday cards & many b-day gifties for years. Etsy come to life is a perfect description. http://nymag.com/listings/stores/exit_9/
Lol, the "Keep Calm and Carry On" poster is something I said on twitter yesterday that I need to be hanging over my desk. What a coincidence. I love shops like this. I like the notion of you moving into the shop too. I can tell when I like a shop a lot, because I want to move in.
Thank you Gwen for being the catalyst to start my daily writing practice and to release my perfectionistic tendencies. For me, this blog challenge is about "Process Not Perfection." I had a million reasons why I shouldn't be writing a blog right now (as mentioned in my first post) but I told my inner critic to zip it and I dove in.
I have met so many amazing writers through your project. Thank you for expanding my virtual world which is sure to have physical world spill over. There's nothing more powerful than connecting others and you're doing it brilliantly.
This reflecting on 2009 has got me wondering what my best of's for 2010 will be. At some point I will take your prompts (some will work better than others) and pre-answer them for 2010 as an exercise of setting intentions for the new year. Wanna join me?
This challenge has been awesome and I am so excited to be a part of it. It has really stretched me to dig deep for true content about myself that I hope others will find value in. Even if it is just to say "man I am glad there is someone else out there going through the same stuff I am" Thanks again Gwen
Oh - this makes me wish I still lived in Vancouver. Sort of. Okay - so Vancouver with Southern California weather. By the way, I'm loving the challenge and am soooo glad emma james introduced me to it - and to you!
Denver and Boulder need more stores like that! Or, maybe I just need to know how to find them.
Hi Gwen! I've been blogging for almost two years and this is the first time that I've written on such a regular basis. I feel like the prompts keep me going, and even if I just write a two word answer, I'm happy that I'm doing SOMETHING everyday to be a part of the community. Thanks for the awesome project and these prizes look great! Happy holidays!
PS: It means a lot to me that you've commented a couple of times. :-)
I love this post. The photos are gorgeous and this is the sort of shop that absolutely appeals to me.
I bought a book called Keep Calm and Carry On as a prize earlier this year in a "guess the holiday mileage" competition. The foreword about the origin of the poster was fascinating, especially as the poster was never officially used!
There's a website and a section about the origin of the poster.
gwen, i think i might need to change the hours on the window now at atlas.
if we are not here.
1. chris died. he is never late.
2. kit is late. (she is sorry)
3. brandon saw a pretty lady.
okay, now i must go check out their website.
cheerio.
What a beautiful little shop! Even though you say it's tiny, I bet I'd stay for a long time. Too bad I'm on the other side of the country.
I'll go check out the website now!
hi gwen,
altough i have been sick most of the time, i`ve actually managed to catch up with some of the prompts and have really enjoyed it.thank you so much for this great idea and for getting so many people together!best from berlin, anja
This is lovely! I've been doing the bestof09 prompts but in my private journal (I don't blog at the moment). Thanks for the inspiration - you've even been prompting me to add some experiences to 2010 (like best tea - I had never thought of that, but it might be my mission for the next year).
What a lovely little shop, and a fun poster. Thanks for this giveaway, Gwen!
OMG, this shop looks lovely. I wish I could just walk in and shop there... it truly looks like Etsy came alive :)
Thanks for the giveaway, Gwen. I hope I win :)
What a cute shop!
Gwen, I recently discovered your blog-I too am a UNC and Governor's school alum! great work.
fingers crossed for the giveaway!
What a sweet little shop, I feel like I just walked inside. Thanks again for Best09.
Another exciting give-away - count me in!! I am loving this challenge and sooo loving meeting new people and getting more and more used to (and loving!) Twitter -- and even learning (sort of) Delicious, thanks to you, Gwen.
I discovered them online a bit ago.. I don't remember how I ever came across them. So whimsical. I love that.
What terrific stuff! Its like a little sop I miss terribly in northern New Hampshire.
On another note, the best of 09 challenge has had such yummy side effects. I'll be playing catch-up tomorrow in the snow storm. http://deannalohnes.blogspot.com/ or twitter @DeannaLohnes
Oh, I would like to enter the contest! This blog challenge is such a healing and wondrous discipline. Thank you.
I had seen the turquoise version of the "Keep Calm...poster" but not the red one. Love it!
I love Vancouver! And this shop is delightful. Hopped over and now covet every single piece of jewelry on the site. Not to mention the "wellies & brellies" is the cutest category ever. Very well designed, and such a strong voice to it all, I just wanna become friends with Megan now. What an awesome discovery, Gwen. Thanks!
Thank you for your encouraging and helpful post about writing for the blog last week. It made me think very carefully about what I wrote yesterday :) The writing is one of the things I love best about blogging. And that little shop is just in the next province over from me. Note to self: must go next time we are in BC :))
well, shoot. i was hoping this shop was in boulder so i could go there next time i visit my boy. and to think i just got home from vancouver less than a month ago. i'll end the way i started: shoot.
Looks great. I would love to win. I have lived in Vancouver all my life but never visited Deep Cove.
