When was the last time you took a moment to look around you and deeply appreciate the multiplicity of gifts in your life?
The last time I took stock was over this past week. I hadn’t read Nie Nie’s blog before hearing about her and the recent suffering she and her family have experienced after a plane crash. I read about the more than 150 auctions taking place to benefit Nie Nie and her family on Design Mom. My appreciation this week is for the piece of the blogosphere that is “home” to many us - for responding to the news with grace, abundance and deep goodness. With action.
This week’s appreciations go out to every person that participated in the auctions for Nie Nie Day. It goes out to Gabrielle for raising awareness on Design Mom, for her willingness to share the story in such an authentic way.
Nie Nie is my age and she has four kids, a gorgeous story and is an inspiration to many bloggers. I wanted to add my voice to the chorus that rose up over the past two weeks and continue to rise up to celebrate Nie Nie’s life. To add encouragement to the many other encouraging blog posts that have been written, prayers that have been said and thoughts of love that have been sent out for Nie Nie and her family.
Above all, this week’s appreciation goes out to Stephanie Nielson for choosing “to focus on beauty.” May she and her loved ones be at ease.
