Happy News! Gwen’s Moving Back to Boulder!

After six long months away from Boulder, and with the help and encouragement of countless friends I have planned my move back to the town nestled in the hills. I’ll be back in Boulder* the first week of January. Let’s have a hot chocolate party!

Chapel Hill/Carrboro has treated me incredibly well for the few months I was here. Startup Weekend Chapel Hill was a huge success thanks to the entrepreneurs in the tech community here. I will definitely miss Chapel Hill and will visit sometime in 2008. And anyone heading to the Chapel Hill area in December, stop by Open Eye and get a latte. Best damn espresso on the East Coast.

You want to hear the Boulder Plan, right? Well, it’s evolving every day but a few things are already in place. One is that I’ll be doing some work with TechStars, which delights me so much. More to follow on that. The other is that I’ll be working out of the Bunker, where many of the 2007 TechStars currently have offices. I’ll be continuing development on this website as well as on the design firm. Further, I’ll be launching a new company in 2008. It’s in the earliest stages now, but my hope is to help a team come together within the next six months to work on Project X.

The last bit of news is that I’ll be involved in some new projects with David Cohen, helping take Colorado Startups to the next level. Details forthcoming!

I’ll spend my final weeks in Chapel Hill hanging out, doing the liberal arts thing that I love and drinking tea. As soon as I land in Boulder, I’ll be back to a full schedule. I can’t wait to see some of my favorite people. Reading your blogs has been fun, but seeing your smiles will be even more! See you in a few weeks.

*My real motivation for moving back? I’ve traveled the country/world and have discovered there is no better karaoke bar than Outback Saloon & Karaoke Bar in Boulder. If you are looking for me on a weekend night, that’s where you’ll find me channeling my inner Karen O.
